Blended Family
We offer professional help and support for blended families
We understand how challenging it can be to make a new family work, and how difficult it is for two existing families to integrate into each other’s lives. However, we also know that success is possible with the right support and guidance.
Blended families bring their own dynamics and complexities, which can make it a challenging process to create harmony and well-being for everyone involved. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and resources you need to build strong and healthy relationships within your blended family.
We tailor the process to your specific needs and challenges. We are aware of the emotions that can arise in blended families, and we will help you navigate these feelings and adapt to the new roles and responsibilities that come with them.

What is a blended family?
A blended family, also known as a patchwork family, arises when two adults with children from previous relationships form a new partnership, thereby creating a new family unit. This can be in the form of marriages or cohabiting relationships and may include stepparents, stepchildren, half-siblings, and/or biological siblings.
Blended families can present particular challenges, as it often takes time for all family members to adjust to the new structures and dynamics. Challenges can include managing different parenting styles, resolving conflicts between stepchildren and stepparents, and navigating relationships with the children’s biological parents outside the new family.
Despite these challenges, blended families can also be a source of great strength, support, and love. They offer the opportunity to create new relationships and an expanded family experience for everyone involved.
We can help your blended family
Our psychologists specialize in working with blended families and have extensive experience in addressing the specific challenges that may arise. We offer a safe and confidential atmosphere where you can share your concerns and explore ways to strengthen your family relationships.
We offer both individual sessions as well as family and couples therapy to help you find a common path forward.
Our approach is primarily based on appreciative conversations and solution-focused therapy, where we concentrate on identifying the resources that already exist within the family. We also emphasize communication and collaboration, as these elements are essential for building a well-functioning blended family.
Through therapy, we will help you develop effective communication strategies, conflict resolution techniques, and collaboration skills.
We work with you both individually and as a collective family unit to foster a healthy and loving dynamic among all family members.
