Caregivers
Being a caregiver often means that your life is adapted to another person’s needs.
Perhaps you are caring for someone who is seriously ill and can no longer be the person they used to be.
You may also be a caregiver for someone with a mental illness or a person suffering from alcohol or drug addiction.
Regardless of the reason, life as a caregiver often means that you experience another person becoming the center of your attention. This can lead to you becoming very skilled at adapting and downplaying your own needs. Perhaps it has even become difficult for you to feel what you truly want and how you actually feel.
You may have lost connection with yourself and your inner sensations. If you grew up as a caregiver, you may never have had a clear sense of who you are.
It’s your life – you need to become the main character.
