About Noomi
I offer therapy and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults, focusing on areas such as anxiety, grief, stress, depression, trauma, and long-term effects from difficult upbringing conditions or placements.
Additionally, I offer parental counseling sessions where parenthood is central. I have many years of experience with children experiencing distress, and I have solid knowledge of the challenges that parents of children in difficulties often encounter in schools and in collaboration with municipal authorities. I offer sparring, guidance, and various forms of support and accompaniment.
If you wish for therapy for your child, I recommend that parents attend the first session without the child. You are welcome to call so we can together find the right course of action for you.
Values
Therapy is an investment in yourself and your life – a process where you gain insight and tools to live the life you desire, in harmony with your own values. I consider it essential to create a safe and developmental space that enables this process.
Approach
I adapt therapy to make the most sense for each individual and their current situation. Therefore, I use tools and methods from several different therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic and mentalization-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and metacognitive therapy.
Experience
I have 25 years of experience as a psychologist and have worked with children, adolescents, and families in both municipal and private systems. My experience spans broadly, from general practice to more specialized areas. Common to my work has always been supporting children and adolescents in vulnerable and difficult life circumstances – and their families. Personally, I am a mother of three adult children.
