About Signe
I offer therapy focused on the individual client and work with issues such as trauma, depression, grief, alcohol abuse, postpartum depression, couples therapy, and long-term effects of growing up with parents struggling with addiction or mental illness.
Values
I believe that our actions and strategies always make sense when viewed in light of the experiences we carry with us.
Sometimes we are not fully aware of the baggage we carry. This can make it difficult to understand why we face the challenges we do – and perhaps even encounter the same challenges repeatedly. By becoming more aware of what you carry with you and how your experiences shape your way of encountering the world, you gain the opportunity to choose a different path. You can begin to do things differently.
Approach
I primarily work from a psychodynamic approach, focusing on relationships, attachment, and interactions with others.
I place great emphasis on you feeling safe in therapy. It is important to me that you feel seen and understood in the challenges you face. The most important thing for me is not to follow one specific therapeutic direction – therefore, I will draw upon a wide range of tools from various approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive, narrative, and mentalization-based therapies.
Most recently, I have specialized in the field of trauma and offer EMDR treatment for both children and adults.

Experience
I have experience with alcohol treatment and dual diagnoses, have worked with children of parents with addiction or mental illness, and have trained in therapy for postpartum depression and preventive couples therapy. I am also affiliated with several crisis centers, where I offer therapy to women and children who have experienced physical and psychological violence.
Furthermore, I have nearly 20 years of experience with children and adolescents, including from youth clubs in Copenhagen’s Northwest Quarter and as a psychologist in PPR (Pedagogical Psychological Counseling) in Hillerød Municipality, where I have worked closely with both schools and day care institutions.
Personally, I am married and a mother of three school-aged children.
My one child lives with Type 1 diabetes, and therefore I have a special understanding of everything that comes with life with diabetes.
